How did you become so talented with design etc?
What room is your computer located in? Do you live by a body of water?

Hi ya matie.
1) Ok, I'm not really talented, honest. Most of my colour schemes I take from images - If I had to make up colour schemes off my head I would be useless. I find a nice picture and then with the help of infanview I find out what cololurs are in it and juggle them around. So basically I use other people's talents. As for coding, I learnt that bit by bit as I found I needed it. Before coming to Yuku I only knew the basics such as centering, line breaks etc. Here at Yuku it's been a case of having to learn if I want something different although I still do have to make trips to skins for special bits of code. I tend to forget all code once I have done what I want so I keep a various bits in posts. 2) As I live in a caravan my comp is a lap top and will only work in one place, due to the fact that I have to use a GPRS link and the signal is pretty bad in this area. So my lap top is always on the dining table with the modem facing south. When I am at my daughters it's great as she has really fast wireless broadband which I link into. 30 I don't live far from the sea, about 10 mins slow walk, and I do walk slow due to a bad foot and bad hips. I also actually don't live far from a castle. |

Ah I'm the same way with my internet currently :)
Have you been in the castle? You've been to the States? How much is gas where you live (if you could translate into a gallon)?

1) The castle is quite a modern one actually, not like our real castles but the grounds are fantastic. I have only wandered along there once with my big Sis
and youngest Granddaugher.
http://www.highcliffecastle.co.uk/ We started off for a walk through the woods, along the beach and then into the backside of the castle grounds where there is a lovely open area for cream teas etc. We stopped for tea but we couldn't go into the castle because we had my Bayley with us and obviously no dogs allowed inside. But I must go back to have a wander inside soon. 2) No I have never been to the States. I am not one for wandering too far from home when it comes to flying. I dont fly, therefore my trips abroad have only been across Europe because I can go by boat, hovercraft or even train if I use the Chunnel. The only reason I would like to visit the States is for the people because I find Americans hilarious and would love to socialise with them en mass for a little while. The British, including myself , are by nature a very reserved race and Americans seem, to me, to be far more excitable and show emotions much more than us in public. I love the differences in language. Although we both speak English, Americans interpretation of some words tickle me pick. Have you read "The Americans Guide to Speaking English" on my profile?? 3) Oh don't talk to me about petrol. Our petrol is now over £5 a galleon which is $9.85. We had a petrol strike last week while they rangled over wages. Queues for petrol were miles long with idiots going crazy to fill up. It only lasted a few days though while the government negociated. Our gas and electric have gone up by 60% in the last 2 years and more and more families are being driven back to the bread line. This all of course puts the food prices up as well. Talking of galleons. Over here in the UK we still use the old system, Galleons, Miles, Feet and Inches. The Britsh public fight against being forced to use Europeen measurements. Although the government have forced us to sell in Metres, Litres etc. The shop keepers always still put the old measurements along side the European. If I want to buy material I go in and ask for so many Yards, I wont use Metres. We still have miles here although one town started changing their signs to European because their was talk of the Government forcing that on us as well, but it came to nothing and the town had to change their signs back.

1 British pound = 1.9936 U.S. dollars
Years ago when I was a child we used to get 4 dollars to our pound. The pound was much stronger in those days. How much a galleon are you paying for petrol. |

1) This is really a long story but I will cut it very short.
I did know about spiritualism from a very early age as the woman next door to us when I was born was my Mums best friend and consequently became my God Mother. By the time I was old enough to hear when Mum talked to others about Mrs Roberts being a platform medium, Mrs Robberts had moved and was gone from our lives and I have no memory of her at all. Mum used to say how Mrs Roberts had said that she (Mum) should become a medium as she had "the gift" herself. I never really knew what it was all about except that one spoke to the dead. At 18 I discovered a great game, which was putting bits of paper around the table with letters of the alphabet on and with a glass asking the spirits to come. I got my 2 elder sisters involved with this and for a few weeks we just used to get together in the evenings for a glass of wine and play this game. It was also about this time that I discovered (totally unrelated) that on picking up an object I could tell it''s date and a little bit about the owner. Fortune tell in other words and along with discovering Tarot Cards I used to use this as a party trick with my friends and work mates. It literally was a game that my friends and family used to get me to do. Some for entertainment and some because they didn't believe I could do it so used to try and catch me out. Still at this time I hadn't linked it to anything to do with spiritualism or with contact with the dead. But my eldest Sister one day suggested we started going to medium demonstrations at the local church. We went weekly for many months. Still I didn't go into what it was all about, I just knew that some people could communicate with those passed over. Then in my very late 30s I discovered that I had in fact been empathic all my life. People with problems had always been naturally drawn to me and through out those years I had taken in, housed and set on their feet many people. Giving them a roof over their head when they needed it and supported them emotionally. It was one day that I happened to say to someone. "My goodness did you feel that mans anger that just passed by". Of course the person I was with had no idea what I meant by "feel". In the discussion that followed I realised that not everyone could "feel" people as I had all my life. Up to this point in my life I had also had many experiences of seeing spirit or other strange things throughout my life anyway and about 7 years ago something nasty happened to me that I realised I either had to learn to control it or learn to stop it. By then we had a computer in the house belonging to my eldest granddaughter, then only 10 years old, and I got on the web and after a while found myself on a message board similar to The Spiritual Pathway. From there I met Fran20 and others, and that's when I seriously started to develop. 2) My favourite colour is actually red but I am never really brave enough to wear it although I have done on rare occasions. I mainly tend to go for blue and blue is certainly my absolute favourite for decorating, for living with. In fact prior to moving down here my whole house was decorated blue in some way or another. Either pale on the walls or added as an acents to more neutral colours. 3) I mostly wear long thigh, or ankle length skirts but of course they can't be worn when riding my bike so then it's jeans. I have just lately, since being down here started wearing trousers more though. |
